What is Hadu?+
Hadu is a social activity app that connects you with people nearby who want to do the same things you do — whether that is a weekend hike, a coffee catch-up, a board game night, or a spontaneous plan that needs a few more people. You discover events happening near you, join communities built around your interests, and build a social circle from the people you actually meet.
Is Hadu free?+
Yes, Hadu is completely free to use. There are no subscriptions, no paid tiers, and no paywalls on core features.
How do I find activities near me?+
Open the Explore tab and browse upcoming events in your area. You can filter by category (sports, outdoors, social, arts, food, and more), date, whether it is free, indoors or outdoors, and skill level. The Happening Now section on the Home screen shows events starting soon or already under way.
What is "Anyone Down?"+
Anyone Down is a lightweight way to post a spontaneous plan without creating a full event. Think of it as a public broadcast — "anyone down for a run in 30 minutes?" People nearby can see your post, respond, and join a chat thread in seconds. Posts expire automatically after a few hours.
How do groups work?+
Groups are ongoing communities built around a shared interest — a running club, a language exchange, a film appreciation group. Each group has a group chat so members can stay in touch, share plans, and coordinate between events. You can join existing groups or start your own.
How do I create an event?+
Tap the + button on the Home screen and fill in the details — name, date, time, location, category, and how many people can join. You can set it to public (anyone can join instantly) or choose Host Approval mode, where you review each join request before accepting.
What is Host Approval?+
When you create an event, you can choose "Host Approval" mode instead of open access. People tap "Request to join" and you receive a notification for each new request. You can approve or decline from the app. This gives you control over who comes to your event.
How do connections work?+
After meeting someone at an event or in a group, you can send them a connection request from their profile. Once they accept, you can message each other directly. Connections are mutual — both people have to agree.
How is my location used?+
Hadu uses your approximate location to show you nearby events and groups. Your precise location is never stored permanently or shared with other users. Events show a general area or landmark rather than an exact address. You can adjust location permissions at any time from your device settings.
How is my privacy protected?+
Your profile is visible to other signed-in users, but you control what you share. You can use a first name or nickname, skip adding a photo, and choose not to fill in optional fields. Go to Settings > Privacy for full controls. We never sell your data.
Is there moderation?+
Yes. Hadu has community guidelines and a built-in reporting system. Any user can report a post, event, or message. Reports are reviewed and accounts that violate the guidelines can be warned or suspended. We also have platform-wide tools to push safety notices when needed.
How do I delete my account?+
Go to Settings > Privacy & Data and tap "Request account deletion." Your data will be permanently removed within 30 days. If you have trouble, email privacy@haduapp.com.
