Privacy Policy

Account information: When you register, we collect your email address, display name, and an optional profile photo. We do not require your real name.

Profile data: Information you choose to add — interests, skills, bio, and location (city-level only). All optional fields are entirely up to you.

Location: We use your device's location to show you nearby events and groups. We store only an approximate area (city or neighbourhood), never a precise coordinate. You can revoke location access at any time from your device settings.

Usage data: Events and groups you join or host. This is used to personalise your experience and is not sold to third parties.

Push notification token: A device token used to deliver notifications. It is stored only while you are logged in and cleared on logout.

Messages: Direct messages and group chat content are stored to deliver them to recipients. We do not read message content for advertising purposes.

To operate the app — matching you with nearby events, delivering messages, and sending notifications you have opted into.

To personalise your experience — showing events and groups relevant to your stated interests.

To enforce community guidelines — investigating reports and taking action on policy violations.

To improve the product — understanding aggregate usage patterns (never individual profiles).

Your display name and profile photo are visible to other signed-in users when you join events or groups, or when you appear in connection requests.

Events you host show your display name and a general location (not your precise address).

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not run advertising. We do not share your data with marketing companies.

Firebase (Google): We use Firebase for authentication, database, file storage, and push notifications. Data is stored on Google's infrastructure under Google's data processing terms. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Google Maps: Used to display location information within the app. Subject to Google's terms.

No other third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs are embedded in Hadu.

Account and profile data is retained until you delete your account.

Messages are retained to deliver conversation history. They are deleted when you delete your account.

Push tokens are cleared when you log out or delete the app.

Waitlist emails submitted via this website are used only to notify you about the Hadu launch. You can request removal at any time.

You can access and edit your profile data at any time from within the app.

You can delete your account from Settings > Privacy & Data. Your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

You can request a full export of your personal data by emailing privacy@haduapp.com.

If you are in the EEA or UK, you have rights under GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, and the right to object to processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Hadu is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will delete their account.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via the app or email. Continued use of Hadu after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
